U.S., British leaders to meet over strategic issues

WASHINGTON, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President George W. Bush will meet British Prime Minister Gordon Brown here Friday to discuss issues of mutual concerns, including worsening economic crisis, the White House said.

"The prime minister and the president will discuss the global economy, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Georgia and other strategic issues of shared concern," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said.

Brown is in New York for the annual United Nations General Assembly and other meetings this week. Bush visited London in June.
